Are condoms about the guy or the girl?

Are condoms about the guy or the girl?

So much of the debate about condoms is how to make the experience of using them more pleasurable for the guy which should also mean by the same token, that they become more popular and are used more often. Condom manufacturers and research bodies spend millions trying to devise the ever-better condom in terms of superior feel and sensitivity without compromising on safety and protection. But what about the girl? More and more women are buying and keeping their own supply of condoms that they like and in fact, females are also starting up condom manufacturing companies so they can put their stamp on the product. But how many guys think about their female partner and her experience when they purchase a condom?

It’s an interesting question because it opens up the debate about just how do condoms affect women. Condoms are all about preventing unwanted pregnancy and STIs, if pleasure and sensation are on the menu then it is all aimed at how the guy feels but women are concerned about their condoms. Some of the broader questions which affect women are what is the condom made from, where has it come from and yes, what will it feel like and this is borne out by the female entrepreneurs who are involved in highly successful condom start-ups.

There are condoms specifically designed by manufacturers to enhance female pleasure. A woman’s experience and preference might revolve around the feel of the condom or she may be concerned to avoid latex or even want a vegan condom. It really is down to personal preference and this will vary from woman to woman much as her taste in shoes will but also no different from a guy preferring one brand of condom over another. So, if you are looking for a condom which will enhance her pleasure, what type of condoms should you be searching for in the shop? Here are some suggestions:-

G Spot condoms – G spot condoms usually have a large loose pouch of additional ribbed latex positioned near the head of the condom to help stimulate those nerve endings. The trick is to roll the condom on so the baggy side is on the top of the penis instead of the underside

Skinless Skin condoms – these are best sellers because they are super sensitive condoms and so just feel like they are not there – you will both enjoy these

Studded condoms – the raised texture on a studded condom stimulates and awakens sensations, it's a concept that has been around for a long time but it really does deliver for her. The condom is covered in dotted studs

Ribbed condoms – there are lots of different versions of the ribbed condom and these work on a similar principle to studded condoms. Some condoms can combine both ribs and studs

Climax delay lubricated condoms – these have a heat-activated climax delay lubricant on the inside of the condom allowing pleasure to last longer particularly for those guys who just can’t hold on

Vegan-friendly condoms – believe it or not, this can matter a lot to the ladies and not just those who have a latex allergy. Vegan condoms are increasingly popular and the drivers behind some of the new condom manufacturing companies who major in these products have been women. Vegan condoms are usually made from synthetic polyisoprene which not only is vegan approved but delivers the most incredible sensitivity and sensation from a really soft and comfortable condom

Some companies have lady condom sampler packs so a selection of those which experience has suggested are popular with the girls.

Women are making inroads slowly into the condom market but their purchasing levels are still woefully low compared to men; males are still the majority purchasers of condoms and there seems to be a real taboo about women buying and carrying condoms because they are seen as cheap and easy but it’s okay for guys to do it in case they get lucky. But this double standard could all be about to change.

Hanx is a completely female-focused condom brand that has done more than shake up the condom market – it has opened up the debate about women as condom buyers and condom enjoyers. There is still huge embarrassment associated with buying condoms particularly amongst the under 25s of both genders and Hanx aims to change this especially when it comes to female empowerment. They are changing the entire condom buying experience and creating a more discrete product which is likely to appeal much more to women and this is because the majority of condom design has previously been done by men. Hanx is all about empowerment for the girls with their catchy slogan, “Empowerment Starts Here #GetYourHanxOn”. Hanx have developed white and gold matte foil wrapping within a slim white box, chic, sophisticated and discrete, you won’t mind one of those falling out of your handbag. Hanx are also ultra-thin for super sensitivity and they have got rid of that nasty chemical smell which is such a turn-off and shouts, “it’s condom time” like nothing else. Ethically conscious, there are no animal by-products in a Hanx condom unlike many other alternatives; Hanx uses a vegan plant-based alternative plus sustainably produced Fairtrade latex.

It’s an interesting debate and shows clearly that women are concerned about how the condom feels for them but they are also interested in what it is made from, where the materials have come from and how it is packaged and presented. These are things that many guys will admit they just don’t think about. So, if you want to improve the bedroom experience, why not take a little time to think about the needs of your female and what she might prefer from the online condom shop. It shouldn’t be a taboo that women feel that they cannot buy condoms because they are somehow viewed as some cheap date or a sexual predator, this is about being allowed to enjoy the sexual experience and a woman feeling that she can stay safe from unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases and what’s wrong with that?
