Tips for Men to Stay Healthy Enough to Enjoy Sex

We read the modifiers and hear the disclaimers about some of the requirements for men to take erectile dysfunction drugs. They always tell you to ask your doctor if you are healthy enough for sex. Certainly there are circumstances when a man knows that sex is risky – like right after a heart attack. But there are tips and tricks to keep a man sex-healthy he can do on his own.

It seems like such a trite, simple statement, but your diet can affect your sexual stamina. Most people know what they should eat, but take the path of least resistance. Stay away from the bad fats and fried foods. When you put the proper fuel in your body, you will feel mentally and physically healthy.

Men do not ‘perform’ well in sex when they do not feel 100%. If you live a sedentary lifestyle, you will have sedentary sex – slow and sluggish. No one says you have to pump iron seven days a week. However, you do have to get up off the couch and get in three days of 30 minute cardio workouts. It can be as simple as a fast walk. When you have the three times 30 down to a regular routine, you may try lifting weights several times a week. When you exercise you build endorphins in your brain which make you feel good – feel happy. Happiness equals better sex.

The world has been telling us that smoking is bad since the 1950’s. Hard core smokers did not want to believe it. Here is an interesting fact: there are a group of doctors who feel that smoking causes ED. This is because when they studied their patients they discovered that most of the men complaining of ED were smokers. It may not be scientific, but what’s there is there. Giving up the smokes will also give you more lung capacity and therefore more stamina.

There are two kinds of stress – the good kind and the bad kind. Everyone has some stress but the major difference is how you handle it. You must have an outlet or it will build inside you until you break apart. If you are stressed over a job, money or health issues, sex is the last thing on your mind. You do not have to see a psychiatrist but have at least one close friend with whom you can vent. Get a grip on your anger. Read about ways to de-stress. Try Tai-Chi or meditation.

Too much alcohol can cause issues in the bedroom as well as every other room in your home. See if you can go a week without that beer after work. If you can’t, you know you have a real problem. Health officials keep telling us that one glass of red wine each day is good for the heart. Evidently the antioxidants in wine are good for other things, too. Notice that they say one glass of red wine. They do not say a bottle of red wine or a bottle of champagne. On a rare occurrence it is fine – just not an everyday habit.

For many reasons, illegal drugs can affect you, your mood and your sexual health. They are illegal for a reason. An even larger problem today is the abuse and addiction to prescription drugs. This is a huge monkey to be carrying around. Most of the time the monkey turns into a gorilla. Lose the drugs – get high on life.

If you are truly feeling ill, see your doctor. Some men worry too much about something small and when they hear the good news from their physicians, their attitudes change completely. One of the most contagious things in the world is a smile. Be positive about life. Let someone catch a smile from you. Nothing will make you feel better.
